Chair of Consistory
About

Danita Branam serves as the Chair of Consistory for the Collegiate Church. She has also served within this collegium as consistory chair of Middle Church, chair of the governing board of Intersections International, as well as chair of both the Financial Planning and Operations Administrative Committees. She developed a free Sunday brunch bag program distributed in Tompkins and Union Square parks by volunteers. She has been a coach to Posse Foundation scholarship recipients; and completed 25 consecutive semesters coaching over 400 underserved youth through the All Stars Project Joseph A Forgione Development School for Youth, which introduced youth to the corporate business and cultural environments. In 2005, Danita received a national Points of Light Award, and in 2009 a Community Service Award from the NY Chapter of the National Black MBA Association.


Danita retired as a vice president at BNY Mellon where she executed project management in the Business Process Services Unit. Previously, she provided independent consulting addressing workflow optimization, application conversion and process integration for other leading financial institutions. She was a managing director for iGate Corporation/Symphoni International, LLC consulting firm; senior vice president for Financial Technologies International, Inc. technology firm; and director of finance & administration at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. She began her career as an analyst at the American Federation of Musicians & Employers Welfare & Pension Fund, evolving systems to automate the disbursement of annual royalties to recording musicians. Danita captured the attention of royalty fund administrator staff at U. S. Trust Company, where she then began her path in Financial Services, for the Institutional Custody, Investment & Administration business.  Danita received a B.A. from New York University in science and psychology.
